Ultrasound

Deaconess Illinois Medical Center uses ultrasound as a painless, non-invasive way to diagnose a variety of diseases and conditions without the use of radiation, making this a widely used procedure during pregnancy. Sometimes called sonography, ultrasounds bounce high-frequency sound waves off the body to produce a real-time picture of the internal structures including organ formation, movement and blood flow.

Deaconess Illinois Medical Center offers a 3D ultrasound machine that provides parents with a detailed view of the fetus in the womb. With this technology, your doctors not only determine the gender, developmental age and overall health of your baby, but parents also get an incredible view of their baby like none other.

Ultrasounds are offered by Women’s Diagnostic Services, located on the first floor, just to the left of the public elevators in the main lobby.
